Unless you’ve been living in some kind of drum & bass resistant cave, or perhaps in an alternative dimension where breakbeats are outlawed, you’ll no doubt have heard of The Upbeats and their signature sound.
What you may not have heard of is their label, Non Vogue. Well then we suggest you fix up! Already it’s seen collaborations with Noisia, Maldini (Bad Company) and Evol Intent, and shows no signs of slowing down as The Upbeats prepare to drop their third artist album, ‘Big Skeleton’.
Featuring a selection of guest vocalists, styles and sounds, ‘Big Skeleton’ promises to be their biggest project to date and contains rumoured link ups with UK hip hop star, Rodney P and NZ based acoustic songstress, Jess Chambers.
Crafting a complete album available on CD and digital download for the home listener, The Upbeats have opted to split the dancefloor favourites which have been smashing up their DJ sets across a selection of vinyl releases. That should keep everyone happy, including Marcus Intalex who’s picked up a pair of tracks from ‘Big Skeleton’ for vinyl release on his infamous Soul:R imprint.
Full track listing and format TBC
